Bratenstein by Mike McCormack
This is a story, written in rhyming prose, about a boy whose constant bad
behavior turns him into the monster, Bratenstein. He alienates his
friends and classmates and as a result, finds himself alone. Saddened,
he realizes it was his behavior that turned him into the monster, and he
knows he has to change. Bratenstein sets off to change his ways with
the hope of becoming a boy again. It’s a story of a monster; it’s a
monster of a story.
